After receiving a request for more of Roman's haircut videos from a youtube account with videos of other children getting haircuts (profiled as a Dutch 44 year old male). Roman's blog will now be private. maybe we are overreacting, because it was just the you tube videos...
We are not sure how many friends and family are frequent visitors, but we hope you will still check it out. Details on how to access the blog once it goes private will be sent to you soon.

Busy Saturday!
Roman had his haircut again this weekend. It went smoother than the last time. He got to ride a horse this time around. We have video that we will upload later. Its pretty funny. He had his sideburns shaped up, and mamí almost fainted when the hairdresser brought out the clippers... some warning, please!
When we got home there was too much activity on our street. Roman couldn't decide whether to watch a neighbor mow his lawn or the remodeling down the street from us.
Later on Saturday, we went over to Brentwood Tavern and met up with some neighborhood friend to enjoy some live music and food. Except for the long wait for the check, the place was great. There is playscape that kids can play, while parents can enjoy hanging out. Here is Roman and his friend Alice. She is so cute, being a pic sis to Roman, showing him the ropes. Check back when we upload video of his first time down a big kids slide....

Trip to the Motor City
Actually it was a trip to the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan. Roman and mamí went for about five days to spend some time with the Sanchez familia. Roman's aunt Patty made the visit from New Orleans. We missed Aunt Lucy but maybe next year we can have all the hernandez sisters! Roman got to play (or be a bully depending on your perspective) with his older cousin Amanda.
baby Felix- 3 months
We had a blast. It was a true test of mamí's patience during the long flight from Houston-Detroit The key was to always keep something handy to entertain him with. and of course snacks... but you have to be careful not to offer snacks when he is not hungry, because that is when you will have flying goldfish, cheerios, etc all over the aisles and passengers' laps.... mamí is not sure whether a window or aisle seat is best. An aisle seat allowed us to walk up and down the aisle, without bothering fellow passengers. But the window seat on the short flight from Austin to Houston, entertained Roman for the whole time. The continental flight attendants were awesome, letting us hangout in the back part of the plane. Roman explored that area for awhile. He finally crashed for a portion of the trip, and mamí got to nap (good thing because our travels started at 4:45 am!)
The trip back was so much better because we had a row of seats to ourselves (even his stuffed toy penguin had a seat). Roman entertained himself with the seat belt, and had a good time. He kept himself busy with a box of 4 crayons. He put them in and took them out for about 15 minutes. It was great! You can see more photos at his shutterfly webpage http://romanedwards.shutterfly.com/action/

daddy's sinus surgery
Today Roman's daddy had to undergo sinus surgery at an outpatient facility. Roman came home after school and wondered why he couldn't get close to daddy's nose. He sensed his daddy needed some cheering up, so mamí put on some overalls on Roman and he proceeded to dance to his banjo music played by his leapfrog activity table (which mamí bought for two whole bucks at a church garage sale). Next time there will be video because it was pretty hilarious!

Hanging out~
In early July, Roman got to hang out with our friends Eloy and Karen. We had a blast at their beautiful home in the hills of West Austin.
Here are some pictures:
Here is Roman trying on the dogs water bowl after pouring out the water on himself. We tried to tell him that bowl hats are not in fashion these days.
We don't usually stay out late past Roman's bedtime, but we decided to make an exception. Roman couldn't hang anymore and crashed out in Eloy's arms. Thanks Eloy and Karen for your wonderful hospitality.
